Westminster police investigate threats sent to department stores
“At Target, the safety of our guests and team members is our top priority. We take this situation very seriously.”
Police and U.S. Postal Service officials are investigating several letters sent to Carroll County department stores last week threatening a shooting incident, authorities said.
The Boscov's, Wal-Mart and Target stores in Westminster, as well as Wal-Mart stores in Eldersburg and Hampstead, each received a letter on Monday that contained similar threats, said Westminster police.
As of today, police had no additional information on the letters or who might have sent them, said Westminster police Capt. Pete Dantuono. Read more
