Chocolate Lovers Just Love Ghirardelli's Chocolate Festival

It's a tribute to all things chocolate benefitting Project Open Hand, a non-profit that serves meals to seniors and people with HIV and AIDS. "The famous Ghirardelli Chocolate Ice Cream Eating Contest starts at 2:30 each day," says Kym Hough, Director of Marketing for the festival.

Flowers for hospice patients: The Bloom Project open house is today

Red roses, purple irises and other fragrant flowers filled a room at Teufel Holly Farms in Southwest Portland Thursday afternoon as volunteers with the Bloom Project carefully selected stems for bouquets to be given to people who are dying. Surplus cut flowers that otherwise would be tossed away are made into fresh floral arrangements that are delivered to hospice and palliative care patients in Central Oregon, the Portland Metro Area and Sacramento, Calif.

Fulton County Commissioners Pledge to Continue Fighting Hunger in Fulton County

Fulton County Commission Vice-Chair Emma I. Darnell, District 5, presented a resolution declaring support for Hunger Action Month during the Wednesday, September 3, 2014 , Board of Commissioners meeting. The resolution was approved by the board with District 6 Commissioner Joan P. Garner and District 7 Commissioner William "Bill" Edwards joining as co-sponsors.
