Most actively traded companies on Canadian stock markets

- Some of the most active companies traded Friday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (up 121.56 points at 14,237.06):

Aeroplan Income Fund (TSX:AER.UN). Loyalty program. Down 46 cents, or 2.74 per cent, at $16.35 on 11,772,170 shares. Rumours swirl that Air Canada's frequent-flyer program operator may lose its status as a Canadian income trust due to an increase in foreign ownership. About 41 per cent of Aeroplan's units were owned by foreigners at the end of March, approaching the 49.9 per cent maximum allowed by law to remain an income trust. Read more
