Guard, inmate were hurt in school shooter escape

Corrections officials say one of the inmates who escaped from an Ohio prison with a convicted school shooter last week was injured along with a prison guard while on the run. An initial incident report by the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction says the guard who captured 19-year-old Lindsey Bruce received stitches for minor injuries.

Midwest retailer Meijer Inc. has agreed to pay a $2 million fine as part of a settlement with U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission over the resale of 12 recalled consumer products four years ago. Meijer Inc. is expecting to give out 30 percent more flu shots this year over last year when the Midwest retailer provided 103,000 flu shots to customers. That anticipated growth is a sign that more adults are seeing the value in getting inoculated against a sickness that kills 50,000 people in the United States annually.

Meijer Gardens sells 96 percent of 2014 concert series tickets, tops $3 million in sales

That's an obvious statement for anyone who's paid attention - the outdoor venue officially ran out of tickets in mid-August, when it celebrated its 25th sellout out of 30 total shows. But seeing the numbers in black and white still can be startling: The venue sold 96.24 percent of all available tickets, totaling 54,855 admissions.
