Irving Oil refinery production slows due to cracking unit issue
Irving Oil Ltd. is set to embark on an unplanned maintenance program at its Saint John refinery after problems with one of the refinery's cracking units in the spring resulted in a "significant financial shortfall" for the company. A company newsletter in August stated the refinery has only been able to process 50,000 barrels per day in its residue fluid catalytic cracking unit.
