Iowa Lottery officials say today that early details show that 77,640 tickets sold in Iowa won prizes in Saturday's $590.5 million Powerball jackpot drawing.

The Powerball jackpot for Saturday's drawing has jumped from $550 million to $600 million -- a new record -- Iowa Lottery officials said Friday.

A message early Thursday on the multistate lottery's website said the jackpot has soared to $475 million after none of the ticket sold matched all the winning numbers in Wednesday night's drawing: 2, 11, 26, 34, 41 and a Powerball of 32.

In just a few short weeks, the jackpot has ballooned to an estimated $360 million, making it the third largest Powerball jackpot and the seventh largest jackpot ever.
