Ford didn't really stave off bankruptcy because they borrowed billions of dollars from US banks instead of the gov't. They did this so they would look better in the public eye.And as we know the public is easy to fool.

Not really they were lucky enough to borrow the money while there was still money to loan. Where GM didn't get so lucky nobody was loaning money last fall and winter.. |
