TSA opens new PreCheck application centers in Dallas and Fort Worth

Travelers who wanted to enroll in the Transportation Security Administration's PreCheck program have had to travel to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport since an application center opened there in April. The process was made a little easier after TSA relocated the center from inside the secured area of Terminal D to the public side in July.

Mexican carrier wants to launch Dallas/Fort Worth service

Mexican airline VivaAerobus applied Wednesday to begin service in December to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport from four Mexican cities: Guadalajara, Cancun, Monterrey and San Jose del Cabo. The Monterrey-based airline said it would offer daily service to Monterrey and San Jose del Cabo and four flights a week to both Cancun and Guadalajara.

Loaded Rifle Found in Carry-On Bag at DFW Airport

A loaded rifle was discovered in the carry-on bag of a passenger at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport on Friday night. The Transportation Security Administration found the .40 caliber Kel-Tec Sub 2000 Folding Rifle during a security screening at the C21 checkpoint at 9 p.m. Officials said the gun was loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition and accompanied by additional magazine loaded with 22 rounds.

Starting that day, Southwest Airlines will roll out nonstop flights to seven cities, with eight more starting Nov. 2 and still more later on.
