Calendar shift to lift April sales, but weak trends still visible
“Mass merchant sales should continue to benefit from food, household product and gas price inflation. Demand for apparel and other discretionary items remains weak.”
Retailers' sales in April are expected to rebound from a downbeat March, boosted by warmer weather in the first half of the month and a calendar shift in Easter that resulted in an extra selling day. via MarketWatch
