Some patients at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco have been warned to get tested for HIV and other infectious diseases after hospital officials learned some equipment was improperly sterilized, a hospital spokesman said Friday.
SF patients told of disease risk after equipment not fully sterilized
Letters were sent earlier this week to 198 patients who underwent procedures using a rigid bronchoscope, laryngoscope or esophagoscope at the hospital's California campus on California Street from July 2010 to February this year.
