Consumer Alert: Bally's Fitness Lawsuit; Popcorn Prices Up; Hoops Tourney Unproductive

My 18 yr. old nephew signed a contract with Bally's in Philadelphia, PA. He had no job, just graduated high school, only had a summer job and somehow got convinced he could afford a 3 year membership. He had no adult representation when signing the contact and no real way of paying it, yet Bally's keeps sending collection notices stating he must pay. This all occurred in 2007.

Does anyone know how to get in touch with the class action lawsuit? Please help

As with everything dealing in court issues you must start your own law suit, and even file the papers yourself...finding an attorney to assist you is nearly impossible. The court system is more corrupt than Bally's.

I had joines with my husband ans Brotherinlaw a month to month payment plan so I thought in October 2006. I had been a pritty avtive member untill I got pregnant in July 2007 at that point I had requested to cancel my membership and was told by the corprate office that I could not do so because I had a three year contract with them. I stated no that I had only joined on amonth to mont hbases. Thats when I had realised that I had been swindled from som teenaged so called maneger whho at thetim would not let me read what I was sgining stating that everything was laginamate. I should have known when employes kept comming in and out of the office.. One thin I was told that because I wasa high risk pregnanct I would have to get a written not faxed to them by my ob. So I did. 4 months later in November of 2007 and I start getting herassing calls from Ballys stating that I have to pay. At that point I had not reaseved any bill stating Istill was active member .I had thought since i got the letter from my ob that I was in the clear. Now almost 9 months later there is no letter on record and I am being suminds suid by ballys for breach of contract. There when I called there collections office they where very rude wanted to know where I work if I own a house and how many children i have. Where do they get the right to ask that. I would never give any pf that information to any one and would never tell my financial situation. I be dobne some research and have come across many simular sitiations from being misled by this crappy gym.. I think we as the people should take a stand i counter sue....
