"cursing" the company is a form of workplace violence....there should be a zero tolerance....

Stupid idiot. I'm surprised he could even read and write. Well, he is in the right place though, Rialto, land of no opportunity, corrupt, inept government, and Circus (Grace) Vargas. Now if he was related to one of the council members, or perhaps owned a adult bookstore in Redlands where the assistant city administrator spent his on duty time, he would still have his job

This guy should really check further into this. There is a legal resource in San Francisco that has information on "blogging" and what is protected and what is not. There has been some court rulings even pertaining to private companies and "at-will employees." I hope his lawyer is aware of these. It is a freedom of speech issue.

Too many employers are taking advantage of a bad economy. They're using it as an excuse to demand complete obedience and pay reduced wages to employees. Looks like Black and Decker is just another one of them.

Here's a link to the organization in the Bay Area and a story done last year on a Northern California website, http://anewscafe.com/2009/05/08/electronic-fr... .

Remember, what is done on your own time, on your own equipment has some protection, whether foul language was used. It may have not been the smartest thing for this man to do, but again, there are rights on freedom of speech.

John Doe,
Employers are always looking for an edge to exploit workers. That's why unions are important. That's why laws protecting workers are important. Unions do make mistakes, but are needed to protect workers. Employers got government to wink at laws against employing illegal aliens, and the honest businesses that didn't, who played by the rules, got edged out. Now, officially, 14.5 million workers have lost jobs since 2007. Who does government bail out? It's certainly not the workers.
you should get fired too

well then if you dont want to loose your job, to talk about the company that you are working for. anytime you insult a company like this moron did, it is like saying i hate this job and i quit.

Dumb move on the ex-employee's part, but it makes no sense for him to be working in Rialto when he lives in Ventura.

Calling him in to work only 2 hours is ridiculous, and it may be illegal not to pay him for at least 4.

He is one of many employees who feel they must have a cell phone with them at work. I used to supervisor employees, and would ask them to keep their cell phones off during working hours. One rule everyone should follow, is not to talk about work on the phone or the computer during work hours. This employee might have had better luck in getting this decision reversed if he had not publicized the situation.
