Roots and Branches: Work continues to preserve newspaper legacy

That project has fed better than a third of a million newspaper pages to the free "Chronicling America" website, a joint project of the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Library of Congress. In addition to the newspapers from state projects around the country, the "Chronicling America" website also has a feature called the "US Newspaper Directory, 1690-Present" that gives bibliographic information on every newspaper ever published in the country.
