One day after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, Atlantis Plastics Inc.

Plastic packaging company AEP Industries today said it will pay $87 million to acquire nearly all the assets of the plastic films segment of Atlantis Plastics.

Atlantis Plastics Inc. on Sunday filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, and has arranged to sell its Plastic Films division to AEP Industries Inc.
