Friends of Jim Giancarlo remember Ashland theater icon

The celebration of the life of the long-time artistic director of Oregon Cabaret Theatre was held in the Oregon Shakespeare Festival's Angus Bowmer Theatre, where mourners and well-wishers filled the 600-seat theater to near-capacity. With Stadelman as master of ceremonies, and with lots of help, the program chronicled Giancarlo's life - often with old film and still photos - from the time he was a kid in Buffalo, N.Y., to a young man becoming a social worker, then a flower child in San Francisco, a Green Show dancer for the OSF and ultimately a choreographer and college teacher, and the business and spiritual leader of the popular OCT.

Democrats rally for Wolf at York College

A group attends a Democratic rally for Tom Wolf in front of the Williams Business Center on the main campus of York College on Sunday. Though polls show challenger Tom Wolf leading Republican Tom Corbett by a large margin, victory in November isn't a sure thing, Eugene DePasquale, the state auditor general and a Democrat, told a crowd of about 15 at a rally for Wolf at York College.

Dems to host rally for Tom Wolf, other candidates Sunday at York College

The Democratic Party of York County and a state committee that is supporting Democratic gubernatorial nominee Tom Wolf plan to host a rally Sunday on the York College campus, according to a news release. The event begins at 2 p.m. It will feature Katie McGinty, a former state environmental protection secretary who is the head of the Campaign for a Fresh Start.

At Department of Correction Graduation, Leaders Defend an Agency Under Fire
