Father of the medical school: After 10 years, Dr. de la Rosa can't wait for classes to start

Full story: El Paso Times

Dr. Jose Manuel de la Rosa rarely lifts the curtain into his personal life. I had the pleasure of being good friends with one of his daughters growing up and the De La Rosas are an amazing and kind family I have nothing but fond memories of them and wish them continued success in all that they do.

Dr. De La Rosa is a nice man, but I remember the other Doctor that was in charge who had to come in because of his expertise to assist in certifying the medical school because things were not being done under Dr. De La Rosa’s watch as the El Paso Times reported. Then when the school was going to be opened because of his hard work, he was kicked out and all off a sudden Dr. De La Rosa became the founding dean, interesting. I wish the EP Times would have asked him tough questions and not only the touchy feely story they reported. That should be part of his job; if you are in the limelight, you should also take the heat.

Congratulations, Dr. de la Rosa. The long-awaited time is near. I think of you and others with whom I had the privilege of working often. I am so proud of you for sticking with your dream!
