O'Barry has a book to sell. That kind of disqualifies him as an objective "protester." We can't train elephants for circuses because that's cruel; we shouldn't trap predator cats for display because zoos aren't "natural" habitats. Do trees feel pain when we cut them down for lumber?

All these romantic impulses to leave nature untouched somehow end when kind-hearted protesters go to Publix for pork chops or fried chicken.

O'Barry and others like him have legitimate gripes where slaughtering whales and finning sharks are concerned, but when this turns to self-interest, it has a funny smell.

Daily Horoscope for January 1

Sagittarius

Happy New Year, Saggitarius! Despite the headache, your motivation level is high today, setting a trend for the rest of the year. You'll be surrounded by relatives and friends all year and will work passionately to help them, as you do. Things go smoothly today, and you're absorbed with the duties of new year. Be careful that you don't neglect your own health, though. You can't help others if you're run down.
