Lindsey Barwick's Wolves Cheer Camp was held June 10-12 at Newberry College in the MacLean Gymnasium for girls ages 4 through 12. Having over 16 years of cheerleading experience, Barwick is about to enter her second year as the Newberry College cheerleading head coach and spirit coordinator.

The inaugural football alumni golf tournament celebrating the 100th year of Newberry College football will be June 29, teeing off at 10 a.m. Stokes Trainor of Newberry is offering a 2013 Buick Encore for a hole-in-one on hole 17 of the tournament.
St. Luke art camp applications due June 10
The Summer Arts program sponsored by St. Luke's Episcopal Church is open to children ages 8 to 15 and is offered from 9 a.m. to noon June 17 through June 20 at the church on the corner of Main and Calhoun streets.
School District honors retirees
There were 27 teachers with well over 700 years experience who retired from the Newberry County School District this year.
Approximately 20 invitations were delivered by Jennifer Morrison, chair of the Department of Teacher Education and Sport Professions at Newberry College, to neighbors and immediate surrounding areas of the Speer Street School.
Six Fort Mill High seniors sign with colleges
Wrestler Nick Leitten, baseball player Josh Turner, softball player Hyatt Causby, lacrosse player Karah Huntsinger and soccer players Meaghan Stevens and David Allmendinger all signed to play their sports at the next level.
"Even though the college is so close to home, I knew it was where God wanted me to be," said Mid-Carolina high school senior, Laura Beth Shealy about Newberry College.
NC senior named All Southeast Region player
Newberry College senior golfer Chandler Gruenemeier has been named a Division II PING All-Southeast Region player, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Members of the Saluda High School class of 2013 said goodbye to their school Friday night, while at the same time embracing what the future holds, as commencement exercises were hosted in the school gymnasium.
That's the way several graduates in Ware Shoals described their class Thursday night as they prepared for their final taste of high school.
Neil was born in Calhoun Falls, son of the late Carnell and Nellie Chrisley. He was a professional Major League baseball player with the Boston Red Sox, New York Mets and Detroit Tigers, and an avid golfer and member of Star Fort National Golf Course.
