After 1,565 b'nai mitzvah, many more Shabbat services and commissioning 32 major liturgical compositions during 40 years at University Synagogue in Brentwood, Cantor Jay Frailich is retiring.

Rabbi grabs long-awaited chance to be 'Jeopardy' contestant
Sari Laufer wasn't allowed to say how well she did on the TV quiz show "Jeopardy" until the first episode featuring her aired June 11. One thing the 35-year-old Reform rabbi was able to share beforehand, however, is that she was "really determined" to answer correctly the one Jewish question that arose during the game.
