"Everybody has at least one bad date in their history," said John Blenn, a playwright who has turned that observation into an annual theatrical event, "American Dating Catastrophes." This year's show, a group of nine short comedies by seven writers, will be held July 17 through 19 at the Dix Hills Performing Arts Center, at Five Towns College .
