Some question Donnelly's late bid for mayor

Politics as usual.

I Don't particularly care for Wong's catty side it isn't attractive coming from a person who is acting manager of our city. She is more concerned about who, than what, where, when and how !
I am so sick of this game she plays.

Sure the council says they might work better with Donnelly. Hello! THEY and Donnelly along with Mylott are the ones who got us in this mess.
He came out at the end because he is a COWARD. He knew he would have to debate and he has nothing honest he could say. He is also without money to run a campain.
Same Tommy boy ....how can he live with himself.

Huh? She works from morning til night on this city, and anyone who doesn't know how hard she is working is not paying attention. For the first time in many years we are not living on a credit card mentality.

You would think that if he wants to promote himself out in public; he would refrain from overindulging.

No wonder he jumped in at this late hour; more likely than not he just woke up.......

Donnelly really "loves" Fitchburg because he's made a lot of money managing slums and bleeding the city because of all the services his tenants require.
It makes me sick that anyone would actually consider voting for him. If you are, first look up the property he owns on the assessor's website and then take a drive by his units...does it really appear that he cares about Fitchburg??

He cares enough! There is more than dollars and cents that run a city, there's common sense and Mayor Wrong does not have any common sense, when it comes to dealing with the general citizens. By the way there is more general citizens than the well educated ones in Fitchburg, and if Heart and emotion show up next week, we might just have a new Mayor in town. Mayor right,not mayor wrong.

That will put the city in a strong position to benefit from future state aid when the economy rebounds, she said.

Crime prevention is a community issue in which residents must hold each other accountable and get involved in efforts to curb illegal activities as quoted!
Ya a strong position at the expense of Fitchburg citizens. More shootings,robberies, blood shed,lack of responding to 911 calls on several occasions, two thirds of street lights out. Community services cut etc etc etc.

What are you trying to say to the public with such comments?

What's the body count got to be, before we get a fat government or state grant or bail out?

Then, to plea to the citizens to get involved with crime prevention as a way to up the future body count. We've seen citizens report crime only to become victims themselves with no city support at all!

Talk is very cheap, Mayor Wrong, when it is at the expense of our children, families, senior citizens, and concerned residents and business owners in town.

Can you just give us the real cost? Have you factored the above in the payment? We DO NOT think so! Fitchburg is just a bunch of numbers to crunch and some grant forms to fill out. Great job, Sure we'll get all the grants we need. Just a few more murders and a few more robberies and a few more sell outs to go!

Are you part of this taking the streets back campaign? Must be so, if your inciting UNTRAINED CITIZENS to do professional POLICE work.

Lots of mass law 225 section 2s will be violated by good people not knowing where the line is between good intentions and actually breaking laws themselves trying to prevent or stop crime.

The above situations that really happened should be enough to call for a impeachment,not addressing the 911 calls that were not responded to. This has not been the first time or persons this has happened to. Wong simply is overlooking the general safety of our citizens for getting future grants. We cannot allow someone to flush this town down the can,till some money comes in. Cost will be too great, if it is one of YOUR LOVED ONE'S that becomes victim of crime to get the city a greedy cash grant. Safety First!

If he cared enough he would have entered the campaign by the cutoff date so these concerns could be adressed in public forums. Not a sneaky last minute attack to leave people wondering on unsubstantiated issues. If you think people are dumb enough to elect a hit and run campaigner, you got another think coming, as they say.

How about this solution?

Improve public safety by getting rid of riff raff.

Get rid of riff raff by raising rents, esp. in "bad" neighborhoods.

Raise rents by cracking down on slumlords and absentee landlords.

Anyone who thinks the job of mayor involves sitting at a desk for long hours is deluded. Maybe that's what Fuzzy longs for - a desk job. Ahhhhhhhh, I get to sit down!

I rad the headline and then the article and I fail to see where "some" are questioning Donnelly's late bid to become mayor. Solomito said he was surprised to see a candidate enter this late but he didn't question Donnelly's motives.

Looks like some more top notch reporting from the S&E. Keep up the good work Jeff, you guys can't even get a simple headline right.

You would have to be deaf and blind to not know the issues around us. Tom knows them, and will get them addressed and would at least hear complaints from citizens and not turn them away. I rather have a hit or run campaigner than a hit and run Mayor Wrong!

I can say with 100% honestly that I have met Donnelly more than once at public city gatherings. And, I can say with 100% honesty that I questioned Donnelly's sobriety at each of the times I met him at these public gatherings. Again, pal, I tell no lies here on Topix Forum. As far as what he does in his spare time; I have no idea. And, I don't give a Rat's fanny what it is.

I figured it out, Tom Donnelley's last minute write in campaign is just a clever tactical ploy by a political neophyte "Fuzzy" to split the vote so he can sneak in without campaigning.
