Parents have lost their sense of responsibility, family and community.

This is all a byproduct of the anything goes, free love hippie generation. They didn't teach their children any self control, morals or sense of responsibility on a community level. These children grew up with no parenting skills or sense.

As long as parents act like friends instead of parents there will be problems as well.

Its sad that too many people are too dumb to really sit down and think about what is right for their kids and their family and find solutions. A parenting czar is not going to solve the problems at home. No two homes are like either, so I don't see how it is feasible for one person to come and fix the problems that have taken decades to come about.

Also, I question the type of person that wants the government to come in and decide what is good for their family.

Wake up lax parents, be a parent!!! Don't go to bars at night or spend half your time on myspace looking for a boyfriend or girlfriend. Take marriage seriously and don't bring children into this world unless you are stable and in a stable relationship. It seems most adults are so wrapped up into dating and dealing with multiple children from different fathers that the kids get left in the gutter and forgetten.

A child knows if they were always put second and their feelings pushed aside and that will be a chld that will choose to be defiant and disrespectful to his or her parents.

Just what we need another professional politician with a child pyschology degree telling us how to raise our kids. Sure they say they would advocate for parents but, what would really happen is they would wind up dictating to us about who, what, why, and how we were going to raise our young'uns. The next thing you know they'll be telling us how many kids we can have and then making us take test to ensure none of the kids born have any defects that would put undue strain on the obama healthcare system.
