Judge Wallace swears in daughter as assistant D.A.
Chevonne Wallace took her first oath as a Richmond County attorney Friday morning as her mother, the Honorable Tanya Wallace, conducted the swearing-in. She will begin working as an assistant district attorney with Michael Parker.

Campbell law school tops Wake Forest, UNC, Duke on state bar exam
RALEIGH Campbell University 's law graduates are back on top when it comes to the annual North Carolina Bar Exam, narrowly besting Wake Forest University 's law school grads for the highest bar passage rate in the state in the summer testing.

Educator to join Wake school board
By a narrow margin, the Wake County school board on Sept. 8 selected Carolyn Morrison, a former elementary teacher and principal, to fill the vacant District 6. With the board's 4-3 vote, Morrison, a longtime Wake educator who also taught at Peace College and Campbell University, will fill Beverley Clark's term until it ends in 2011.

Board names new Buncombe County attorney
Buncombe County has a familiar face as its new legal counsel. The Board of Commissioners named Michael Frue, staff attorney since 2005, as the new county attorney at its meeting Tuesday.
