According to investigating detective Matthew Dray, last week the division followed up on information it received about an alleged sexual assault. The division conducted an investigation and determined there was probable cause to arrest Michael Hutchison, 37, of Xenia.

County retired teachers meet for summer lunch

Greene County Retired Teachers Association President Virginia Pinkerton presided over the summer meeting and luncheon held at United Memorial Presbyterian Church on Aug. 27. Recognition was given to Octogenarians and older who are members of GCRTA. Also, the scholarship winners of the GCRTA 2014 scholarships for education were recognized as well: Max Mullin, son of Paul and Caroline Mullin of Yellow Springs, will attend Ohio University and major in computer engineering, getting his master's degree in education; and Lauren Brickey, daughter of Rodney and Lisa Brickey of Xenia, will attend Wilmington College and major in history, getting her master's degree in education.

Xenia schools moving ahead with bond refinancing

The Xenia Community Schools Board of Education is moving ahead with a bond refinancing that could potentially save the school district some major headaches down the road. The board voted to pass the resolution to move forward with that action at its regular September meeting Monday night.
