Georgia On My Mind

You won't run into Ray Charles, but if you head on down to Woodbine, Georgia, you can take in some great country and bluegrass music on the weekend.

This event is held by my father in law who is the president of the Woodbine Opry. It is held every Friday and Saturday night. Friday night they play Blue Grass and Gospel and Saturday night is Country Music. It is free and open to the public. They have a meal offered both Friday and Saturday nights starting at 6pm at a cost of $8.00 per adult and $4.00 per child. The music then starts at 7pm until 10pm They have a cake giveaway you can buy tickets for at $1 and 50 percent money drawing at $1 All proceeds go to rehabbing the Old School House. They have a website www.woodbineopry.com and you can view videos on youtube of previous nights just search woodbine opry. Hope all this helps

thanks so much, couldn't make it there this past weekend, but now plan to make it a weekly outing. brother in laws and father in law played blue grass several years ago, sounds pretty similar to what they did. it was a lot of fun, and people were super nice. thanks again for the information.
