Witt-Birn aquatic center closing for 'green' updates

The Darwin E. Smith Aquatic Center in Wittenberg is going green. The 12-year-old pool will be closing July 20 for at least three weeks so new energy-efficient boilers, lighting and air handling systems can be installed to save the center a projected $30,000 to $40,000 each year.
