Board reviews capital outlay and budget cuts
WWG -- While state legislators hammered out a new budget it doesn't begin to solve the financial issues in most districts. Superintendent Loy Woelber told the board they will receive a one time increase in the formula of $51 per pupil. This amounts to about $30,000 increase for the district. "This will help our bottom line next year," said Woelber.
A state wide insurance program was passed by the legislature, but it was immediately vetoed by the governor. Woelber said, " overall it is good news for the districts."

City Council clarifies 4 wheeler rules
WESTBROOK - Mayor Rocky Kolar gave the council estimate figures for a pro-posed street project for this summer. The project includes various curb/gutter and resurfacing on Ninth Street, Cedar Avenue, Fifth and Cedar, Nine and one half street and Edison Avenue, with an option of doing a portion of Seventh Street.
Last month the council asked City Attorney Maryellen Suhrhoff to check to see what would be required to assess owners for the curb and gutter portion of the full project. Read more
