County council hopefuls swap jabs
Northampton County Councilman Ron Angle seeks to retain his District 4 seat for a third term next week against a Wind Gap man making his first run for public office. The campaign is probably the most contentious among the council seats this fall.
Angle has accused challenger John Maher of ''totally negative campaigning'' and charged the county Democratic Party was ''playing games with soft money.''
In a debate Monday, Maher said he is running a positive campaign with limited resources and wasn't behind negative ads. He said Angle has enemies in the district, but Maher didn't know them. Read more
