Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009 11:37 a.m. A Barnwell woman was murdered Tuesday, Dec. 8 and her husband is being held as a suspect, according to the Barnwell County Sheriff.

Authorities have accused a 64-year-old clerk of a rural South Carolina town with stealing more than $35,000. State Law Enforcement Division officials said Patricia Fowler was arrested Tuesday and charged with embezzlement of public funds.

Aiken police Tuesday arrested a 40-year-old woman they say attempted to kill a public safety officer by driving a 2005 Nissan Sentra into the man in the parking lot of Maria's Restaurant.

The Aiken County Sheriff's Office has released today its latest most wanted list, this time focusing on the crime of burglary.
