I have lived in RECC's districts as well as KU's. I've noticed my bills are about half of when I live under RECC. I now always try to live under KU.

The PSC has been letting RECC take the citizens for a ride. They base their rates for profit. Only their profit is out of sight. The department heads are probably earning over $100K a year each. This makes the bottom line look bleak. Which makes it look as though they are running at or near break even. Several are benefiting or PROFITing at our expense and the PSC is allowing it. The PSC should not take their financial statements and use the info at face value. Ask what is in misc. exp. Ask how much department heads are earning. I go to work everyday just like they do. I wake up early in the morning and stay at work all day, I'll work over anytime my company needs me. Why is their time worth so much more than mine? Don't tell me they are smarter, I know better. Usually butt kissers that are incompetent gets the higher paying jobs. RECC could still function without the top seven earners in the company. I'd guarantee that. Who runs the lines? Who makes sure the payroll is paid? Who talks to customers? Now, who makes deals to build or purchase overpriced buildings through contractors that will cost the customers more MORE on their electric bills. The communities under RECC are poor communities. Everytime the rates increase, some people have to chose--Do we pay all the electric bill or do we buy food and medicine. The heads of RECC should be ashamed of themselves. It would really do them good to take a couple of months from their life and live in one of the poorest neighborhoods in KY or Tennessee and do with out like these people do. Figure out how to pay a $400 electric bill when thats all you bring how for two weeks hard labor. Walk a mile in their shoes. Then they might understand that they are not worth as much as they think they are.
That's all for now.

Please please!!!! I don't earn $100,000 dollars a year. I wouldn't work for RECC if it meant I earned that little. We are paid what we are worth and dont forget, we have to pay for utilities just the same as you.

Try doing it on a fixed income of $672.00 per month. That is what people on social security earn after working years in the system. Explain how you would eat, pay water,$300-$400 winter electric bill, get medication, hopefully afford telephone, nice to have cable, and how about transportation. Go ahead and explain. Don't give me that it is just the people that don't want to work living off that little. It is also the people that did work and can't no more. Go ahead, good luck. I truly believe that your being sarcastic, but I bet your sweet a**, you ain't worth that much.

Your truly impressive. If I'm going to pay 9.10 percent out of each and every check for social security and medicare, not to mention that my employer matches that to total 18.20 percent (Almost 20% of every check!). Nonrefundable. I expect to have something to live off of, if I ever retire or come under hard times. You should be ashamed to think that it is something to brag about when someone has to work past 80. Bush mentality. Maybe she should have two or three jobs. I hope you also have to work until and past 80. Both my grandparents were dead before 80, like the majority of us will be. Something to look forward to!!!!!
That's all for now.

Been reading this thread. I gotta agree with ' That's Enough '. I seriously doubt you are worth much.

You seem to have no compassion for others. Therefore , that also leads me to believe ,'That's Enough ', is right about your being a butt kisser . Which would explain why and how you got a position such as a Dept.Head .( I am sure some head was involved ).

I guess if your poor ole mom is still working at 80 years old she had some morals and wasn't a butt kisser , like her offspring. Or did she just not know how to save money ? Perhaps she spent it on an ungrateful child's education ? Just so that child could grow up to be a heartless , compassion less , self-serving , arrogant, money grubbing , DEPARTMENT HEAD .......That cares nothing about their poor ole mom working at 80 or any other elderly person , as long as they can pay their astronomical electric bill every month.

Word to the wise , know who you are talking to before YOU ( of all the foul things on this earth ) starts spewing forth recommendations.

I think that sucks that there are idiots like you in the world. You should be ashamed of yourself, if you make that much and still let your 80 year old mom get out and work. You should be helping her, she raised you and you have no appreciation of that whatsoever. Yea she may like to work, but at 80 years old, she wouldn't work unless she had to hold down a job.

I know for a fact that our local RECC has bought the land that lays right beside them if you look when you are on main street you will notice that the house beside the RECC is gone as is 3 of the 4 trailors that were behind the house. And guess who got to pay for that land WE DID. We the deal was in the WC Outlook about selling MEPB to RECC, they said NO RATE INCREASES well that was a load of crap because we have had 3 or 4 increases but the increases were for only the former MEPB customers well if its all RECC now what doesn't the former RECC customers get a rate increase?

Yeah I moved from KU to an RECC district, and I was only in the place seven days and the electric bill was almost $40.00. KU on the other hand is much better, I ran a washer and dryer almost 24/7, plus central heat and air, and my electric bill with them was only 68.00/month, Now RECC on the other hand would have been around $200.00.

RECC is a coop-erative which means it is owned by it's customers. Their rules state that if they do not use or invest your profits, they have to give it back to you the customer. Their profits are large and is what paid for the new industrial park in Pine Knot instead of making a payment back to the customer.

They could even use the profits (your money) to lower the rate but we all know that isn't going to happen so they look for more ways to invest because they don't want to give it back to the customer. Highland went through that once and was told they had to give a percentage back to the customer in cash, I got .54 cents, my wife got .38 cents.

RECC still has lots of money to invest but that won't stop the rate hikes that are coming. TVA has to cover their multi-million dollar ash spill plus they are bringing some of that toxic stuff to a new landfill in Scott Co. along the Big South Fork River watershed. The only reason a permit has been applied for is for the dumping of fly ash from TVA, big bucks are involved. Now not only are we paying high rates to a company we own which could use it's profits to lessen the burden put on the customer, we soon will have to live with thousands of tons of toxic fly ash leaching out of the hills for our grandchildren.

They will always win.
