City Council, county commissioners should reject proposed mercury storage

When local government officials in the late 1980s agreed to a storage facility near Whitewater for radioactive tailings left over from the uranium boom, they must have feared, or at least suspected, the facility could become the proverbial nose of the camel under the tent.
