Modest successes in encouraging the use of public transit offset by population growth
The Columbus area has experienced modest success in recent years encouraging residents to step out of their cars and use buses or bicycles with the goal of reducing air pollution and rush-hour traffic congestion. The percentage of central Ohioans driving to work dropped slightly in the past decade.
