The Nation's Weather

Numerous rain showers and scattered thunderstorms were expected Monday along a storm system running from the Gulf of Mexico across the Southeast to the mid-Atlantic.

The heaviest precipitation was expected in the mid-Atlantic, bringing flooding especially near creeks, streams and rivers. Stronger thunderstorms were to bring the risk of high winds and hail.

In the West, scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms were expected through the Intermountain West, the Rockies and into the Plains. Snow was expected in the highest elevations.
