RI boosts cigarette tax revenue, thanks to Mass.
The Providence Journal reports that from August through October, the first three months that the higher Massachusetts tax was in effect, Rhode Island collected $2.7 million more in cigarette tax revenue than state officials expected.

A fire at Amtrol on Division Road across the street from New England Tech prompted the evacuation of 150 to 200 employees Wednesday afternoon, but it was quickly put down and no one was injured, fire officials said.
