Good weather can double Big E attendance

The weather has a major impact in the reason people choose to go to the Big E on a particular day. Patrick Brough of Easthampton told 22News, "Especially if you have kids and you don't want to be towing the kids around in the rain that's definitely not fun so the weather plays a big role in when we come to the Big E." Greek man defrauded developers, including West Springfield adviser who stole money from his clients

A Greek man was sentenced Tuesday in Boston for his involvement in a scheme that defrauded developers of $7.9 million, part of which came from a West Springfield financial adviser who stole the money from his clients. Evripedes Georgiadis, 49, of Larisa, Greece, was convicted in May of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, 11 counts of wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering.

West Springfield Police told 22News they received their first reports of a bear sighting in the Saint Thomas Cemetery around 9:30 Wednesday morning. Sgt. Nolan Ryan said reports continued most of the day as the bear roamed through Smyrna Street and Greenleaf Avenue, eventually making its way to Janet Street.
