After nearly seven years of deliberation about a site for the new Weddington water tower, town council members voted unanimously this week on a resolution in favor of putting it on Hemby Road.

You could call it the tussle over a tower. Monday night the Weddington town council will choose where a new water tower will go either on Hemby Road or on Weddington Matthews road.

Residents from Marvin and Weddington had their chance this week to learn more about a planned power line, voicing health and aesthetic concerns about the line's path.

Town council members met Friday, May 3, to put the finishing touches on the renovation agreement between Weddington and the Providence Volunteer Fire Department.

After dealing with unreliable water pressure throughout town for a while, Weddington residents and officials met Tuesday, April 23, to discuss possible locations for a new water tower that could fix the problem.
