Scaryland haunted house to open in October
Scaryland, proposed to open just outside the town of Westport, received some negative feedback from neighbors who said the idea is disrespectful to vets and would bring noisy crowds to the area. The village of Waunakee, however, technically has rezoning authority over the piece of land and thus had the final say in the future of Scaryland.
Wauktoberfest celebrates German heritage
It was was a celebration of all things German in Waunakee this weekend at the 10th annual Wauktoberfest. The event is a fundraiser for the Waunakee Community Foundation and all proceeds to go a variety of local charities.

DUI driver crashes into squad car
Just after midnight Thursday morning, Middleton police were on scene of a rollover accident at Highway 12 and Greenway Blvd. As officers were investigating, a 40-year-old Waunakee man was driving east on Highway 12 when his vehicle struck a squad car.
