As temperature plunges, heating bills soar

WOODSVILLE-Winter is an expensive time of year and not just because of holiday shopping frenzies. Unaffordable fuel and electric bills have residents keeping their thermostats low because heating bills are high.
"Things are getting harder," said Tri-County Community Action Program (Tri-County CAP) manager Dan McGregor in an interview from Woodsville. "Your income may change or stay the same but the cost of everything else like rent and cost of living go up."
The Woodsville branch of Tri-County CAP provides fuel assistance and access to a food pantry for residents in the towns of Bath, Haverhill, Orford, Warren, Benton, Wentworth, Monroe, Lisbon, Landaff and North Woodstock. Read more
