More than 300 acres of Wareham coastline to be preserved

A combination of a federal grant, Community Preservation funds and private donations, together totaling more than $3 million, will be used to protect more than 300 acres of land fronting on Buzzards Bay.

One person was killed when a flat bed tow truck carrying an SUV collided with another vehicle on Route 495 in Wareham Thursday evening around 10:30 p.m. The flat bed tow truck also apparently hit the Route 195 bridge abutment and overpass during the accident.
