The Cherokee County Commission voted unanimously at its June 16 meeting toA purchase two Waleska parks from Reinhardt College for $608,000. The county anticipates closing on the purchase of Cline Park, 12.2 acres for $244,300, and Waleska park, 18.9 acres for $363,800, by the end of the month.
Waleska to issue $11M in bonds for Reinhardt
The Waleska Downtown Development Authority plans to issue $11 million in bonds for Reinhardt College, so that the college, located in the small city, can refinance some of its bond debt.
Although Waleska is projecting that its property tax revenue will be up next year, its overall revenue is expected to be down, resulting in a slightly smaller proposed general fund budget for the city than it operated on this year.
