Memorial Day weekend visitors to Fort Hartsuff were treated to another live display of history as members of the Fremont Pathfinders Civil War Reenactment Group provided glimpses into the duties and garb of soldiers and workers that inhabited the fort in its heyday.

State Game and Parks commissioners voted unanimously to hold off on deciding about wildlife regulations that would allow the killing of three cougars in part of northwest Nebraska.

School officials in Orchard, Nebraska, were notified by parents, last Friday, that two elementary school boys had told them that a man had attempted to persuade them to let him give them a ride home in his van.

"We set up the debris. We have smoke bombs go off to simulate smoke. We have the roll over vehicles," said Kevin Garvin, Cedar County Emergency management Director.
