FORT WORTH -- He wasn't the runt of the litter, but he wasn't the pick, either: what they call a little 'green.'

But the folks who passed on Mac when he was a piglet were looking a little sheepish when the black and white Hampshire was named grand champion in the Junior Barrow competition at the Fort Worth Stock Show on Friday.

His owner, Jake Booth, 15, is a freshman at Levelland High School. He gets up at 6 a.m. to feed Mac, plays football and baseball after school, then does more pig maintenance when he gets home. It was his third appearance and first win at the Stock Show. Read more
