State engineer plans metering of some water wells
New Mexico's top water manager plans to order irrigators, municipalities and industry in a portion of the state to install meters on their underground wells to measure water use.
Police investigate possible homicide in Vaughn
Officers were called to the house on the corner of 5th and Goins in Vaughn shortly after 2 p.m. State police were at the house late into Monday night waiting on a search warrant to enter the house again.
City Council to hold budget work session before meeting Monday
Double duty is once again in store for the Las Cruces City Council, as it will conduct a special budget work session and retreat at 10 a.m. Monday before the convening for a regularly scheduled council meeting at 1 p.m. The special budget work session will be in Room 2007, on the second floor of City Hall, 700 N. All of Bernalillo County is under a difficult driving warning. From Albuquerque to Santa Fe and the metro area to Santa Rosa down through Vaughn, NM road conditions are expected to only get worse this evening.

I'm living without a dog right now. We have no yard, and I have neither the discipline nor the knees to walk him when I drag myself out of bed or when I drag myself home from work, so I am temporarily - and I emphasize temporarily - sans dog.
