Apollo marks visit by Wounded Warrior Project The Wounded Warrior Project moved through Apollo on July 3. The 342-mile walk across the state began in Philadelphia on June 20 and was held to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project which helps soldiers injured in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

When: Opening 8 p.m. Friday. Continuing through July 26 at 8 p.m. Fridays-Sundays. Where: Steele Farm, Freeport Theatre Festival grounds, 2498 White Cloud Road, Allegheny Township, just off Route 356, two miles southeast of Freeport.

Fourth of July events in the Valley include: Apollo: Salute To The Armed Forces and Fireworks at 7 p.m. Saturday at Owens Field, Apollo.

* Thursday 7 a.m. - Depart from Ligonier. 3 p.m. - Arrive in Blairsville. 5 p.m. - Dinner at the Blairsville Community Center.
