Grayson Co., TX -- After a nearly three hour police chase, 22-year old Clinton Middleton was finally knocked off the road in his pick up truck and arrested by police.

With half a dozen law enforcement agencies chasing him, a Galveston man led a medium-speed car chase from the Metroplex Friday, through the east residential neighborhood of Corsicana out towards Roane, finally ending just a few miles past Chatfield on FM 1129.

A chase that began with a gas drive-off of less than $50 from the Sherman Walmart gas station, Murphy Oil, became more serious when the suspect, Clifton Eldon Middleton, 22, allegedly tried to run his pickup over a Melissa police officer who had laid out spikes across U.S. Highway 75.

A multicounty chase that lasted at least 90 minutes ended when authorities spun a pickup truck into a water-filled ditch along a rural road.

The pursuit continued through at least four counties for more than 90 minutes. A police pursuit that began with a gas station drive-off in Sherman Friday morning was still going more than two hours later in Navarro County.
