Strong to severe storms marched across the Bluegrass Friday morning. There were reports of trees down in Lexington when the line of storms rolled in, packing high winds.

An Upton woman died Saturday after stepping in front of an oncoming train. Wanda Murray, 61, was struck by the train at 1:46 p.m. when she attempted to cross the railroad tracks behind her home on Quarry Road, according to a news release from the Kentucky State Police.

Human error doubled firefighter response time to a fatal blaze in central Kentucky, but fire department officials said the victim likely would have died even if the mistakes were not made.

Two people were found dead in their house late last night. Kentucky State Police say they responded to a possible shooting in Upton, Kentucky.
