Formal indictment in killing of attorney
Two men accused of killing a St. Louis County attorney whose body was found in Illinois have now been formally indicted.
A St. Louis grand jury on Sunday indicted 41-year-old Cleophus King of St. Louis and 20-year-old Ronald Johnson of Ferguson, Missouri. Both face charges of first-degree murder, robbery and armed criminal action.
The body of 38-year-old Luke Meiners of University City, Missouri, was found last month in a wooded area in Venice, Illinois. Investigators say Meiners was killed at King's home before the body was moved. Read more

Body of attorney found in Venice

The body of a St. Louis County attorney was found dumped in a wooded area in Venice on Tuesday morning.
The victim was identified as Assistant County Counselor Luke Meiners. A motive for his death was not released.
St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley and St. Louis County Counselor Patricia Redington released a statement saying they were saddened by the news.
They issued a press statement calling Meiners death 'untimely, senseless and a terrible tragedy.' Read more
