Vo-tech training changes with progress

“This brings interest to the assignment and it affects two different areas of study -- the writing and the technical aspect.”

Area career and technology centers are out to change the stigma that vocational schools are for students who aren't smart enough to go to college. via PittsburghLIVE.com

I believe, that after earning two degrees that the "stigma" about attending a VoTech course is a myth.
Why do I say that? This country needs people who have quality work skills in the trades ( not illegals who do it for cheap and then it has to be done over again!). Therefore, what we have today in the USA is: people are made to believe that if they do not go to college then they will not make a good income. This is the myth.
There are too many disappointed students from colleges and universities that can't land that big paying job. For specific collegiate fields, students would probably do well, i.e. medical, engineering, pharmacy, etc. But from my experience, I concluded that there are too many collegiate courses out there that provides "zilch" in getting a high paying jobs and many students are misled to keep professors in jobs and get the credit. A well structured VoTech training program is not likely to be undercut by cheap illegal workers in this country (e.g. welding, electrician, etc).
This is the advice I give to my younger relatives.
I got bad advice years ago from my high school counselor and went to and graduated from two Universities with the belief, that those good jobs were out there waiting for me. Laugh is on me!

That's so rude of them to say that because votech usually encourages and prepares teens and young adults to go to collage and they really just made them selves look bad.

Fols here is the problem! Employers need employees period not folks who go to a boxed up program at a 2 yrs school. Don't beleive me go there and find out you will owe 2yrs tution and end up defaulting on your loan because your training eitheer has no local jobs or has a entry level job at $7.15. The truth is that the Vo Tech system is now been changed and is changing. They offer classes that are short erm, less expensive and are connected to employers who need employees for high occupational jobs. Support your Vo Tech give it a chance we are loosing jobs because employers need workers that have techincal spefic training.
