Just keep dumping more poison in the lakes to kill the weeds. Never mind the thousands of fish that float to the surface and line the shores, after the chemicals have been dumped in. Just keep eating the fish that ingest those chemicals and telling the public that the poison has nothing to do with the fish dying.
That never bothered the officials or the people who claim to want to save the
Berkshire county lakes before, so why panic now?
Those mussels could have come in on the bottom of a kayak or a tube or even a ski rope. No way of telling.
Several lakes in Vt. are full of them.

No lake has been lost yet?

Did you misplace a lake we do not know about?

The answer obviously is to increase the budget of MA DEP and of MA Fisheries and Wildlife to a billion or so dollars.
Also, send Smitty Pignatelli and Ben Downing overseas on a $50,000 state-paid-for junket to attend the next Zebra Mussels eradication conference in Fiji, Tahiti, or Bangkok.
Better yet, Gov. Patrick should raise the state sales tax to 8.5% to take into account this new 'threat' to the environment (after, of course, Carbon Dioxide 'pollution').
Thank goodness our Liberal Democrat politicians are protecting us and looking out for our best interests, and the best interests of our water bodies.

Daily Horoscope for January 1

Sagittarius

Happy New Year, Saggitarius! Despite the headache, your motivation level is high today, setting a trend for the rest of the year. You'll be surrounded by relatives and friends all year and will work passionately to help them, as you do. Things go smoothly today, and you're absorbed with the duties of new year. Be careful that you don't neglect your own health, though. You can't help others if you're run down.
