Sobriety Checkpoint

On Friday, August 29, the Irvine Police Department will partner with the Tustin Police Department to conduct a sobriety checkpoint in the area of Jamboree Road and Barranca Parkway from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. This checkpoint is being jointly operated in support of the "Avoid the 38" campaign and is part of our mutual commitment to reducing injuries and deaths caused by impaired drivers. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration research has shown high visibility enforcement can reduce drunken driving fatalities by as much as 20 percent.
